City of Sanctuary UK has created this website to continue providing the network with support and information to ensure sanctuary for all. As the coronavirus pandemic unfolds around us we are developing different ways of working to continue to build a culture of welcome, develop solidarity with people seeking sanctuary and reform the asylum process. These pages aim to share information and creative ideas in this new environment of self-isolation, lockdown and fast policy changes.
We have developed 2 new communication options and made it freely available to the network.
• Zoom facilities for groups to organise their own video conferencing calls
• Slack CoS Network Space – for groups to engage with direct communication with the whole network in one place. Contact us for the link.
We are collating positive examples of practical support, local networking and communications to inspire and expand our work. Please tell us what you are doing so that we can share the great examples emerging. We also recommend the Coronavirus Asylum Handbook signposting resource initiated by Refugee Action. CoS groups have a unique and valuable contribution to make by sharing your creative responses to continuing to build a culture of welcome.
Staff continue to be available for advice, support and to listen to your needs. Please share with us any requests or suggestions for how we can better meet the needs of the network.
Bear with us. We are working irregular hours due to new caring responsibilities.
